About The Position
The Supply Clerk/Traffic Management Specialist plays a crucial role in the efficient management of equipment, materials, and tools within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. This position involves receiving, storing, and issuing various items while maintaining accurate stock records. The specialist is responsible for verifying the receipt of items, ensuring they conform to specifications, and organizing them appropriately based on identifying information such as style, size, or type of material. The role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage inventory effectively, including filling orders, requisitioning items, and compiling reports on stock consumption and adjustments. In addition to inventory management, the Supply Clerk/Traffic Management Specialist is tasked with the distribution of stock among production workers, maintaining records of materials issued, and making necessary adjustments or repairs to items in stock. The position also involves determining optimal storage methods and locations, considering various factors such as temperature, humidity, and weight limits. The specialist will be responsible for cutting stock to size, transporting materials to other departments, and ensuring that shop tools are in working condition. This role requires compliance with international and federal transportation laws and regulations, particularly when arranging shipments of cargo to various destinations. The specialist will also conduct loading and unloading operations for trucks, ensuring that all documentation is accounted for and properly distributed. Operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and possibly forklifts is a key aspect of this position, along with adhering to safety and quality standards as part of the ISO 9001 program. Overall, the Supply Clerk/Traffic Management Specialist must be adaptable and ready to perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
