About The Position

As a Transportation Intern, you will support Best Buy’s Inbound Transportation Program while gaining hands‑on experience in how transportation strategies drive efficiency and performance across the supply chain. In this role, you will analyze inbound transportation data to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance. You will collaborate with cross‑functional internal teams to support timely, reliable deliveries and help improve vendor and carrier adherence to Best Buy requirements. Through data analysis and problem‑solving, you will contribute to recommendations that enhance the overall performance of Best Buy’s inbound transportation network. In this role, you will also gain insights into how we approach many challenges associated with being one of the nation’s leading retailers. This internship also will give you the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees and explore a wide variety of career paths. This internship will be available from June to August 2026. It is a hybrid role, meaning you must be located within a drivable distance to our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You will be asked to come into the office 3 days per week. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. Internal Best Buy employees: A limited number of company-sponsored summer housing slots are available near corporate headquarters for hybrid/in-person roles for current Best Buy employees. What you’ll do Support route planning and optimization to improve on-time delivery service and cost per cube on ~60,000 truckloads annually Collect and analyze transportation data to identify trends, making recommendations for cost savings opportunities, and on time delivery improvement Use data and industry insights to make recommendations for KPIs related to domestic cargo security Participate in process improvement initiatives and learn best practices in transportation operations Collaborate cross functionally to ensure on-time, cost-effective product flow

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2026­­ and spring 2029
  • Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm CT
  • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/1/2026- 8/7/2026
  • Must be able to commit to being no more than 2 hours driving distance from the Minneapolis Corporate Campus - 7601 Penn Ave South Richfield, MN 55423
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered)
