About The Position

The Supply Chain Tech I position at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID, is designed to support the Logistics Department by managing the distribution and inventory of medical supplies. This full-time role involves working evening shifts and requires a commitment to maintaining efficient supply chain operations within the healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires 6-12 months previous experience in any or combination of the following: Distribution, Warehousing, Shipping, Receiving, Logistics, Material handling, Customer Service, Inventory Control or other comparable service line.
  • EPA 609 Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Stock linens and supplies on nurse servers in units.
  • Perform counts, pick orders, issue/distribute, deliver, and return excess supplies and equipment within Saint Alphonsus.
  • Differentiate and fill STAT, ASAP, and Routine supply requests as soon as received and deliver to requesting departments.
  • Check/Scan PARs/2 bin locations and restock bins when orders come in the following day.
  • Check and fill specialty carts and boxes in a timely manner.
  • Stage supply requests for fulfillment based on urgency of request.
  • Pull from bulk inventory or from Totes from Boise Storeroom items necessary to restock.
  • Restock shelves ensuring that inventory is correctly labeled, protecting the integrity of sterile supplies.
  • Rotate stock in accordance with 'FIFO' First-in, First-out protocol.
  • Notify supervisor of any shortages of supplies.
  • Generate charge labels and attach them to chargeable supplies.
  • Organize and file completed requisitions, pick tickets, and other reports, records, or related data.
  • Organize and straighten inventory/PAR-2 bin storage locations, break down and discard boxes; maintain the work area(s) in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Check for and pull opened, damaged, expired and/or excess inventory and replace unusable, damaged, or dirty boxes/packaging, labels etc.
  • Handle defective, damaged and/or expired inventory in accordance with established departmental policy.
  • Assist in the preparation, packaging, shipment, and complete documentation of supplies and/or equipment for vendor returns.
  • Participate in taking physical inventories and/or cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory control.
  • Maintain technical competencies of Inventory Management system as software is upgraded or new systems are installed.
