About The Position

The Supply Chain Operations Supervisor –Polytechnic Campus-oversees day-to-day inbound receiving and outbound shipments, storage, inventory, and distribution activities in support of campus operations. This role provides hands-on supervision of staff and coordinates people, workflows, equipment, and systems to ensure the timely, accurate, and secure handling of inbound deliveries and outbound shipments (e.g., freight, packages, mail and other deliveries) as well as supply chain support for emergency incidents (e.g. emergency supplies such as dry ice, barricade setup, etc.). The Supervisor serves as the primary on-site operational lead for the Poly central Supply Chain Operations location to provide reliable, on-time service and is responsible for customer satisfaction. This position focuses on operational execution, workforce coordination, compliance, and continuous improvement while escalating strategic, financial, or policy decisions as appropriate. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates daily receiving, storage, inventory, and distribution operations to ensure mail, packages, freight, and other inbound and outbound items are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Directs the receipt, inspection, staging, storage, delivery and shipment of student, faculty and staff package and mail, freight shipments, and other campus deliveries
  • Supervises assigned staff by coordinating daily work assignments, monitoring workloads, and providing coaching and guidance
  • Labor planning (including schedules and staffing coverage) to align with operational demand and service requirements
  • Guide staff on safety practices, work process and procedural requirements
  • Responsible to maintain accurate inventory, and provide metrics and reporting
  • Maintain metrics and data for accurate receiving records to identify discrepancies, trends, or operational issues and takes appropriate corrective action
  • Responsible for 5-S receiving docks, storage areas, and staging locations to promote efficient space utilization, accessibility, and safety.
  • Ensures adherence to university policies, safety procedures, and applicable standards related to receiving, mail handling, package processing, and freight operations
  • Serves as a point of contact for campus customers for Supply Chain Operations activities, including: receiving, delivery, shipment and services.
  • Responsible for operational reports and provides input to leadership regarding operational metrics, service levels, inventory status, and operational needs
  • Recommends and assists with implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery
  • Participates in ordering and replenishment activities to support appropriate operational needs for resources
  • Performs or assists with operational tasks as needed to support continuity of service
  • Supports special projects and operational initiatives as assigned
