About The Position

The Supply Chain Specialist is a key contributor to an integrated supply chain supporting complex engineering and manufacturing programs. This role manages end‑to-end procurement, logistics, and inventory operations with a focus on risk mitigation, supplier performance, and schedule assurance. The Specialist partners closely with engineering, production, quality, and project management to ensure material readiness, optimize flow, and support strategic business objectives. This position requires strong analytical capability, operational leadership, and the ability to anticipate and resolve issues in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in manufacturing supply chains, exercises sound judgment under pressure, and drives continuous improvement across procurement, logistics, and inventory processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or materials management
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience supporting shipping, receiving, and inventory activities

  • Experience in aerospace, robotics, or engineering-driven manufacturing environments
  • Experience with international shipping documentation and logistics coordination

Responsibilities

  • Procurement Operations – 40%: Manage full lifecycle procurement for complex materials, engineered components, and technical services supporting prototype, production, and field operations. Analyze demand, lead times, supplier capacity, and historical performance to validate delivery commitments and proactively mitigate schedule, cost, and quality risks. Lead supplier communication and performance management, including issue resolution, root‑cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to interpret specifications, manage configuration changes, and ensure alignment between technical requirements and supply chain execution. Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and documentation in ERP systems; identify and correct systemic data issues. Support supplier selection and onboarding by providing operational insights and evaluating supply chain readiness.
  • Shipping, Receiving and Logistics – 35%: Oversee inbound material verification, including documentation, revision control, and condition assessment; resolve discrepancies to maintain traceability and data integrity. Execute ERP transactions for receipts, movements, and adjustments; investigate variances and implement corrective actions. Plan and coordinate domestic and international shipments, balancing cost, lead time, compliance, and risk. Prepare and validate shipping documentation, including export paperwork, commercial invoices, and hazardous materials declarations. Troubleshoot logistics disruptions such as customs holds, carrier delays, or damage claims; coordinate cross‑functional resolution to minimize operational impact. Recommend and implement improvements to logistics workflows, packaging standards, and carrier utilization.
  • Kitting and Inventory Support – 25%: Build and validate production and project kits based on BOMs, engineering revisions, and priority schedules. Identify shortages, substitutions, and configuration discrepancies; collaborate with engineering, planning, and procurement to implement timely solutions. Maintain organized, audit‑ready inventory locations; propose layout and process improvements to reduce search time and errors. Support cycle counts, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and reduce recurring discrepancies. Ensure materials are staged and available to support build readiness, on‑time delivery, and program execution.
  • Additional Responsibilities Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, logistics, and inventory management. Maintain documentation and records to support audit readiness, traceability, and compliance with internal and external requirements. Support implementation of new ERP modules, digital tools, or workflow automation solutions. Provide operational insights to support planning, forecasting, and supply chain strategy development. Perform other supply chain duties as needed to support organizational goals.
