About The Position

Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis. The Supply Chain Specialist II is responsible for case cart picking and inventory replenishment processes within the supply chain central storeroom, sterile processing, anesthesia, PACU, main operating room and safety stock overflow locations at Eskenazi Health. The specialist ensures the efficient placement, distribution, and inventory management of medical supplies and equipment to support patient care and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supply chain management experience in operations, or materials management.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and receiving procedures.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Capable of utilizing standard supply chain equipment or resources specific to box cutter, wireless handheld devices, computer, equipment exchange of tanks, wound vacs & papprs, use of electronic power jacks, code carts, case carts, rolling racks, recycle & trash compactors.
  • Preferred knowledge in supply chain terminology, instrument tray management, code & case cart replenishment, product restocking & receiving, EPIC, SAP MRP, SAP Fiori, Global Health Exchange, Trackcore and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
  • Manage product and equipment replenishment for central supply, case and code carts, anesthesia, PACU, MOR and safety stock overflow locations.
  • Proper use of enterprise resource planning and point of use solutions.
  • Assembles code and case carts for daily operational procedures.
  • Verify the pick list accuracy of supplies and instruments for case cart management.
  • Deliver product, equipment and case carts to designated locations in timely manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally to maintain clinical support.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile product discrepancies.
  • Make sure end of shift duties are complete and meet operational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, FDA standards and product recall management notifications.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects related to inventory management and cost containment.
