The Supply Chain Risk Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) leads analysis, design, implementation, and continuous oversight of secure supply chain practices to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clauses, and applicable National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidance. The ideal candidate will successfully assess the current state, perform gap analysis, develop an implementation plan, oversee implementation, and ensure continuous compliance to meet SCRM requirements within a federal DoD contract environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred; advanced degree highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain management, risk analysis, and/or compliance functions.
  • 7+ years of experience with DoD regulatory frameworks, including DFARS and NIST guidance, relevant to secure supply chain requirements.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams in analysis, implementation, and sustainment of risk management practices.
  • Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 and NIST 800-161 REV 1, Overlay controls and control enhancements for identifying and managing supply chain risks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including briefings to senior stakeholders.
  • TS/SCI required
  • Deep subject matter knowledge in risk management frameworks, supply chain assurance, and continuous monitoring.
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools and methodologies for risk assessment, workflow automation, and compliance reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar preferred.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and collaboration tools, including JIRA, Confluence, and Teams, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current supply chain practices and controls relative to DFARS, NIST, and DoD secure supply chain requirements.
  • Identify gaps, risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities across tools, processes, and roles.
  • Develop clear recommendations to implement a fully compliant supply chain risk management approach.
  • Lead implementation of approved recommendations, including tool integrations, process reengineering, and role realignment.
  • Establish and sustain governance and performance monitoring frameworks to ensure ongoing compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Manage and mentor assigned team members, providing direction, workload planning, and capabilities development.
  • Collaborate with Government and contractor stakeholders to align supply chain risk practices with broader mission objectives.
  • Maintain documentation of policies, standard operating procedures, metrics, and compliance evidence.
  • Support audit readiness, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
