About The Position

The Supply Chain Program Manager (Steel/Mechanical) will be based at Nextracker’s office in Fremont, CA, following a hybrid schedule of four days onsite per week. In this role, you will report to the Director of Program Management. The SC Program Manager goal is to facilitate a positive experience with NEXTracker. He/she ensures that NEXTracker’s products and Installation out-perform customer expectations and are of the highest quality possible and develops customer loyalty by optimizing the product to the customer’s needs and providing great technical onsite support services on the NEXTracker product. As the Supply Chain Program Manager, you will be leading and managing product development and production deliverables and timelines. You will define and execute the project launch strategy through leading and collaboration with cross functional teams, CMs stakeholders to ensure successful and timely execution.

Requirements

  • 7+ years min. of experience leading programs and or projects cradle to grave including ownership of cost, quality, timeline execution.
  • Strategic mindset.
  • Ability to plan entire program for cost/time/quality, see risks as early as possible in the program and ability to come up with a plan to mitigate them.
  • In-depth understanding of NPI and Product Development processes.
  • 7+ years min. serving large OEM customers in renewable energy, automotive, consumer electronics, or home appliances in mechanical or equivalent.
  • Experience working with and managing multinational teams and sites.
  • The ability to influence others and negotiate solutions in critical decisions.
  • Familiarity with Project Management tools and methodologies and managing projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes such as stamping, roll forming, welding, coating, machining, injection molding, assembly and automation.
  • An understanding of quality tools (8D, 5 Whys, QMS, COE) and the ability to drive root cause and corrective action activities.
  • A strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess PMP, PMO or equivalent certifications.
  • Direct experience with domestic and offshore Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Someone who is structured in planning and executing programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sourcing, manufacturing, R&D, systems, applications, quality/reliability, project services, asset management teams and externally with global vendors (CMs) to roll out program timeline for launch.
  • Ensure alignment of defined strategies between CM manufacturing sites globally.
  • Monitor key milestones ensuring adherence to identified timelines and deliverables of key objectives for assigned program.
  • Adapt quickly to changing product and schedule needs.
  • Coordinate the delivery with the contract manufactures (CMs) of products through the NX NPI process to ensure on-time 'turn' for material procurement, product assembly and product testing, field testing & PPAP.
  • Lead program readiness, gate reviews with cross functional teams.
  • Coordinates problem solving, and escalates challenges encountered on the program that affect Quality and to meet commitments, accountable for the project performance and address any gaps to assure alignment.
  • Identify opportunities for processes improvement then develop tools and methodologies to improve efficiencies across the organization.

  • Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons.
  • The annual salary range for this position is $145,000 - $165,000 (Specific to California).
