The Supply Chain Planning Manager at Generac Power Systems plays a crucial role in the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. This position is responsible for collaborating with corporate forecasting and cross-functional teams to translate forecasts into actionable plans for production, inventory, distribution, and financial requirements. The role aims to enhance customer service levels and optimize working capital through strategic planning and execution.

  • Collaborate with corporate forecasting and cross-functional teams to develop and improve strategies for on-time delivery and working capital optimization.
  • Provide recommendations on inventory strategies to support revenue opportunities and fluctuations in product line.
  • Use capacity analysis, historical data, sales forecasts, and product life cycle roadmaps to develop unit volume requirements.
  • Develop and maintain product configuration assumptions for unit calculations.
  • Lead and represent the business unit in weekly SIOP and schedule attainment meetings.
  • Work with product management on New Product Introduction (NPI) and end-of-sale transitions to minimize operational risks.
  • Communicate assumptions, inputs, analyses, and outputs at monthly SIOP meetings.
  • Report forecast accuracy and performance metrics to management on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Lead improvements in customer service levels and inventory turns by maintaining forecasts for assigned products.
  • Ensure planning capabilities support maximum efficiencies and lowest operational costs through system utilization and process improvements.
  • Coach and mentor the team to enhance engagement with stakeholders and establish communication channels across teams.
  • Define resource needs and work within budget and staffing parameters to achieve objectives.
  • Act as SAP Super User within the functional area.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience in a similar environment.
  • 3 years of demand planning experience.
  • 5 years of progressive operations management experience in a similar work environment.
  • Experience leading major cross-functional projects, managing resources, and implementing project plans.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding and application of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • ERP/MRP user experience (SAP/Oracle).
  • Knowledge of Demand Driven Principles.
  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.
