Discover more by following us on LinkedIn!GENERAL FUNCTION The Manager of Production Planning shares responsibility in the manufacturing network strategy and design for North America. This role is expected to support all manufacturing labs within network across Luxottica and 3rd Party vendors. This role participates in the strategizing and defining of network needs based on brands requirements (across the main channel: Retail, Wholesale and E-commerce) as it pertains to total volume and mix of products. The Manager supports the planning strategy working with the facility leadership in the US and other regions as well as third-party lab vendors to optimize work in process and ensure our service KPI's are met.

  • Leverage strong cross-functional relationships with manufacturing labs, sourcing, frame planning, lens planning, engineering, Quality and IT
  • Support leadership in terms of business reviews, status updates and inputs for long/medium term strategies Leading S&OP meetings on a weekly basis, aligning with the brands on a forecast consensus from a demand perspective
  • Continuously balancing sales volume, shipments, and WIP in our manufacturing network
  • Monitors supply chain KPI to effectively run the business and develop and lead new business processes / corrective-preventive actions to reduce negative impacts on service/WIP
  • Leverages relationships with functional leaders and internal business partners to deliver network strategy plans
  • Build workflows, processes, and work instructions
  • Utilizing tableau to develop, maintain, and communicate reporting that allows visibility of critical business information, forecast vs actuals, and activities
  • Work closely with planning team brand leaders to coordinate testing of new product introductions
  • Work closely with brands and IT partners to resolve issues/errors on item setups
  • Lead, track and provide updates on special projects
  • Create files, views, tables and data sets to support the business
  • Troubleshoots routing issues and makes/suggests necessary changes in make and route and POS systems for the brands for existing product and for new product introduction
  • Identify, design and plan projects to gain opportunities and improve the status quo
  • Serves as the timekeeper with each function ensuring correct and on-time delivery from vendors of Rx jobs and shipments from RxO labs
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience
  • Add 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint and SQL type database queries to run the business
  • Background in different manufacturing environments
  • Proven collaboration skills, managed key internal and external relationships
  • Strong communication & presentation skills, at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills; can effectively use qualitative and quantitative data to make recommendations & decisions
  • Multiple facility supply chain planning experience
  • Experience in fast paced, high volume or technical manufacturing environments: consumer goods, industrial, medical devices
  • 1+ years in Rx Lens environment
  • Broad technical lens/industry knowledge, production planning and product
