About the position

The Supply Chain Optimization Leader at Georgia-Pacific will lead and manage business optimization projects focused on enhancing profitability and reducing value leakage in the supply chain. This role involves collaborating with various teams to streamline planning processes, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and utilize advanced tools for profitability analysis. The position aims to empower the team and optimize the supply chain processes to deliver exceptional service to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage business optimization projects, focusing on scenario modeling and network planning.
  • Identify gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain processes.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to streamline planning processes and reduce costs.
  • Work with sales teams to develop tools that maximize price optimization.
  • Utilize advanced tools for profitability analysis and decision-making within planning teams.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in business optimization.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices in business processes and optimization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business optimization, process improvement, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or business intelligence software.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • An MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
  • Background in wood products (Plywood, OSB, or Lumber) industry.
