Supply Chain / Operations Lead
About The Position
Our vision is to make it easy and accessible to manufacture a product. We're starting with a desktop Pick and Place machine, used to assemble electronic components onto circuit boards. Existing Pick and Place machines are expensive and can require high-pressure air and three phase power. Some only accept job files on a floppy disk. Traditionally, Pick and Place machines have only been used by large companies with factory space, so that's how they're designed. But they don't need to be this way. Our machines facilitate mid-scale manufacturing, where you make your product at a moderate scale before making the risky and expensive jump to a factory contract. With our hardware, anyone can do a production run of their product in-house. What we're looking for We're looking for someone that is excited by our vision, has experience shipping hardware, and is ready to wear a lot of hats. We're a small team growing quickly. There will be constant opportunity to take on new responsibilities and have serious impact on the direction of the company. We're looking for a leader who will take radical ownership of the direction of the organization. You will be responsible for supply chain and operations at Opulo. This includes working with domestic and overseas vendors, ensuring part quality, and making improvements to production process and jigs. In many ways, this role is defined as "Keep The Production Line Moving." If you're excited at the idea of wearing many hats and enjoy taking ownership, we want you at Opulo as a supply chain and operations lead. This job requires the need to communicate with vendors overseas during late hours from time to time.
Requirements
- Proficient in PLM software
- Can communicate technical information clearly and concisely
- Very familiar with FDM 3D printing, bent sheet metal fabrication, cutting injection molds, PCBA production
- 2-3 years experience in Supply Chain
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Comfortable pushing at a fast but sustainable pace

- Experience with Aligni
- Experience with Git, Python, FreeCAD
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory counts using our PLM software
- Reorder stock and ensure the production team always has materials available
- Managing cashflow and paying vendors
- Issue Corrective Action Reports to vendors for quality issues
- Maintain our 3D printer farm
- Identify and enact improvements to internal process and production
- Roll improvements into the production line based on customer feedback
