About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Operations & Planning Analyst to join our Supply Chain Team. This fast-paced, dynamic role offers exposure across operations, forecasting, S&OP, store fulfillment, and inventory management for a rapidly growing pet specialty retailer. The position partners closely with merchandising, demand and inventory management, order management, product development, procurement, distribution, logistics, and vendors. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. They are a driver of change—comfortable challenging the status quo, introducing new ideas, and leveraging advanced integrated supply chain planning systems to improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen supply/demand alignment, and enhance overall network efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, planning, procurement, logistics, or forecasting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with retail or distribution systems preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CSCP certification or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience supporting S&OP cycles, forecasting processes, or supply chain efficiency initiatives preferred.
  • Exposure to integrated supply chain planning platforms, such as advanced planning systems, machine-learning-supported forecasting tools, or end-to-end planning suites preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare key performance reports across the DC network and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Forecast, order and analyze inventory data to optimize product flow between distribution centers and stores.
  • Utilize advanced integrated supply chain planning systems to support forecasting, inventory optimization, lifecycle management, and supply/demand balancing.
  • Support demand forecasting processes by analyzing historical trends, promotional impacts, and seasonal patterns.
  • Contribute to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by preparing inputs, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring alignment across cross-functional partners.
  • Recommend and manage optimal inventory levels to maximize in-stock performance at the lowest possible cost.
  • Support product lifecycle management, including phase-in/phase-out processes for new and discontinued items.
  • Facilitate and lead weekly product lifecycle meetings across all categories.
  • Reduce discontinued, obsolete, and excess inventory across the network.
  • Monitor planning and execution system inputs/outputs to ensure accurate, error-free execution.
  • Lead and support supply chain efficiency projects, including initiatives that improve product flow, reduce waste, increase forecast accuracy, streamline processes, and enhance overall network performance.
  • Maintain strong communication and alignment with key business partners, including merchandising, operations, and distribution.
  • Troubleshoot availability issues, resolve supply/demand imbalances, and recommend inventory management solutions.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliver concise, fact-based recommendations to support business decisions.
