PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited, individual to be a part of our Supply Chain team. As the Supply Chain Manager at PennEngineering, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. Join us as we build the future in Manufacturing and Engineering! The Supply Chain Manager owns end-to-end supply chain execution for the Danboro site, including planning, purchasing, inventory control, and inbound logistics. This role ensures materials, components, and finished goods are available to support production and customer demand while balancing service, cost, and working capital. The position partners closely with Operations, Sales, Quality, Accounting, Engineering, and external suppliers to align site-level execution with broader company objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems and planning tools.
  • Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to analyze, organize, and interpret operational data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the JD Edwards ERP system.
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing change.

Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Leadership
  • Lead planning, purchasing, and inventory control functions for the Danboro site.
  • Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and metrics for the team.
  • Develop talent through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Planning & Inventory Management
  • Define, maintain, and adjust planning parameters, inventory policies, and replenishment strategies per business objectives.
  • Monitor inventory health, service levels, and lead times; adjust strategies to improve turns, on-time delivery, and order-to-cash performance.
  • Ensure planning systems and data are accurate and aligned with current business needs (JD Edwards, GAINS, and related tools).
  • Purchasing & Supplier Management
  • Oversee purchasing activities and supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Work directly with suppliers to resolve constraints, expedite critical materials, and manage risk.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing and contractual terms with a focus on total cost, supply assurance, and long-term partnerships.
  • Partner with other PEM locations to align sourcing strategies, leverage purchasing power, and support material availability during supply disruptions.
  • Operational Execution
  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly planning and production meetings.
  • Manage customer service performance using work order start dates as a leading indicator for on-time delivery.
  • Identify slow-moving orders and take action to restore flow and meet delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate closely with manufacturing to align production schedules, priorities, and capacity to maximize plant throughput.
  • Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Define, track, and manage KPIs at both department and individual levels.
  • Analyze plant data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead or support cost-savings and process-improvement initiatives in partnership with Operations.
  • Business Alignment
  • Develop and manage department budgets aligned to the business plan.
  • Balance site-level priorities with global company objectives.
  • Provide clear, timely communication to the Plant Manager on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
  • People & Compliance Responsibilities
  • Conduct performance reviews and make recommendations related to compensation, development, and staffing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable environmental, safety, and health regulations.
  • Ensure international shipments comply with all applicable U.S. and foreign regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
