About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager – Plant will play a pivotal leadership role at ZF’s largest Michigan manufacturing facility in Marysville—a 750,000+ sq. ft. operation—overseeing all materials management and logistics functions, including planning, procurement, inventory control, storage, and distribution to ensure seamless production flow and alignment with lean principles, TS 16949 standards, and all customer, financial, and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for elevating the quality and performance of Materials, Logistics, and Inventory across all manufacturing departments while maintaining strong workplace organization, driving continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives, collaborating cross‑functionally, and building, mentoring, and empowering a high‑performing team in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business management or related field. Significant related experience may be considered in lieu of degree and in addition to experience requirements.
  • 8+ years of related experience in Materials & Operations management within a production/manufacturing environment.
  • 6+ years managing and developing salaried and hourly employees.
  • First hand customer and supplier relations experience
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting effective negotiation
  • Experience working in a TS 16949 and ISO 14001 environment
  • Proven track record developing direct reports and fostering an environment for them to do the same
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in SAP
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Building and strengthening customer and supplier relationships, ensuring smooth interactions, meeting all customer-specific requirements, and minimizing escalation while representing the plant professionally.
  • Leading a unified, high-performing Supply Chain organization by driving a One Team culture, developing and empowering staff at all levels, overseeing training, succession planning, performance reviews, and maintaining job descriptions and departmental budgets.
  • Owning all planning, materials, and logistics operations, including production/material planning, internal and external warehousing, repacking, sequencing, dispatching, transportation, and providing scheduling and operational support to manufacturing.
  • Ensuring inventory excellence, including accuracy, cycle counting, FIFO compliance, consignment and raw material management, plant-wide inventory coordination, packaging/dunnage management, and identifying equipment needs.
  • Driving continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives through optimized material flow, digitization, process improvements, high inventory turns, safe workflows, and alignment to plant KPI and business plan objectives.
  • Serving as SAP specialist (PP, MM, SD, WM) and manage all master data, BOMs, engineering updates, EDI, and manufacturing system controls, while partnering with Corporate SAP teams for ongoing optimization.
  • Maintaining full compliance with TS16949 standards, internal audits, corrective actions, regulatory requirements, accounting principles, and company policies—ensuring proper staff training in all areas.
  • Supporting strategic process and financial planning, including sales forecasting, cost savings initiatives, operational forecasting, adherence to accounting/compliance requirements, and travel to ZF, customer, and supplier sites as needed.
