About The Position

Amazon is seeking an industry proven and detail oriented Supply Chain Manager to support supply chain innovation and optimization of automation technologies across our Last Mile delivery operation. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, contract manufacturing, change management, and system supplier and/or technology sourcing. The Senior Supply Chain Manager must be agile with the ability to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of supply chain experience
  • Experience in supply chain, commodity, and supplier management in a high volume, global sourcing and operations manufacturing environment with a global supply base of contract manufacturers
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience reviewing and understanding engineering design documents for electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and assembly drawings of products
  • Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business
  • Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships
  • • Technical, analytical, and management skills to lead RFQs, supplier selection, supplier capacity planning, and supplier risk identification/mitigation in NPI programs.

Responsibilities

  • Managing overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, cost and quality improvements.
  • Collaborating with technical operations, engineering, and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements ensuring sourcing strategies meet the technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
  • Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and value engineering in support of program’s performance metrics: quality, delivery, capacity, cost and safety.
  • Monitor suppliers’ supply chain, manufacturing, human capital with respect to overall program objectives.
  • Development and execution of global commodity strategies that align business requirements with supplier capabilities.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply.
