About The Position

This position is responsible for the receipt, storage, accountability, and distribution of all equipment and supplies within the medical center's Linen and Medical Supply Departments. The role involves monitoring supply levels, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and providing customer service to clinical staff and patients. The job requires physical stamina and the ability to manage multiple software applications while performing routine tasks.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Four years' experience in receiving, distribution, warehousing, or inventory control preferred.
  • Experience with DH MMIS system (PeopleSoft).
  • Ability to utilize the EPIC system for monitoring requests.
  • Computer input/keyboard experience desired.
  • Experience in using electronic signature software preferred.
  • Basic experience in PC business applications including MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of hospital medical supplies and terminology.
  • Skill in good oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks and lifts.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospital Central Service or Inventory Control.
  • Knowledge of computerized Supply Chain Management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to infection prevention protocols when transporting patients and equipment.
  • Respond to Supply Chain Management emergency management procedures.
  • Process hazmat material and waste following DH policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Joint Commission and Department of Health requirements.
  • Maintain professional relationships and provide customer service to clinical staff and departments.
  • Interact with patients and their families during transport and discharge.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment in supply areas.
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to requesting departments, obtaining signatures when required.
  • Replenish and maintain clinical procedure carts.
  • Monitor distribution stock levels and report discrepancies.
  • Inventory par level supply storage areas using handheld computers or manual methods.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
  • Participate in product and equipment recalls as needed.
