About The Position

The Supply Chain Logistics Specialist II at Cox Automotive is responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of automotive parts necessary for vehicle recon processes. This role involves collaborating with technicians to identify parts, tracking inventory, and ensuring timely distribution to meet customer delivery expectations. The specialist will also maintain safety standards and participate in safety activities while managing shop supply levels effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 5 years in a related field.
  • Experience in installing automotive parts preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of bodywork, frame damage, and minor mechanical repairs.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Define specific parts identified by customers to be ordered and replaced during the recon processes.
  • Communicate information to Procurement staff for order placement.
  • Work with recon technicians to identify specific parts required during the recon/repair process.
  • Track, receive, inventory, and distribute all parts in a timely manner to meet customer vehicle delivery expectations.
  • Communicate any incorrect parts or supplies to Procurement and manage return timing.
  • Maintain all shop supply inventory levels at acceptable levels as directed by management.
  • Secure and control all parts and supply inventory to minimize loss or shrinkage.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workspace.
  • Wear and use appropriate safety equipment at all times while working in specific areas.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
