About The Position

The Supply Chain Lead supports the Supply Chain Manager in overseeing the planning, purchasing, and inventory functions that enable efficient production at Avonix. This role manages day-to-day MRP activities, coordinates material movement, mentors supply chain personnel, contributes to process improvements, and supports supplier performance management. The Supply Chain Lead ensures materials are available, data is accurate, and operational tasks are completed effectively while escalating strategic issues and decisions to the Supply Chain Manager.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 to 5 years of supply chain or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated skill in data accuracy, planning, and inventory control.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including procurement, production planning, inventory management and logistics
  • US Citizen, Green Card holder or equivalent

  • Prior experience coordinating or mentoring others preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day owner of MRP transactions, including reviewing planned orders, maintaining lead times, safety stocks, and BOM accuracy.
  • Identify data integrity issues and propose corrections to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Supports and validates implementation of engineering changes into the system.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, variance investigations, and periodic stock takes.
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, kitting, and material movement processes are followed.
  • Monitor slow-moving and excess inventory and provide recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Track supplier performance and prepare metrics for review with the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Assist with sourcing alternatives and gathering cost information for supplier negotiations.
  • Maintain accurate planning data and support production scheduling requirements.
  • Escalate shortages or supply risks to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Mentor supply chain personnel and coordinate daily tasks for purchasing, planning, inventory control, inventory organization, picking operations, and receivables at dock.
  • Provide on-the-job training and serve as a resource for best practices.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager in workload balancing and cross-functional efforts.
  • Implement supply chain policies and procedures established by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support alignment with Nikon corporate requirements and quality standards.
  • Prepare supply chain metrics including inventory levels, supplier performance, material shortages, and purchasing activities.
  • Provide summary reports and insights to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Assist with mid-term planning, CapEx support, and cost analysis as needed.
  • Partner with Production to resolve material issues and support schedule changes.
  • Work with Engineering on BOM updates and new product introduction.
  • Coordinate with Finance on inventory adjustments and audit activities.
