About The Position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Supply Chain Intern supports Vante business segments through the procurement and the outsourcing of outside services. Process purchase material requirements (PMR) Process subcontract purchase orders as a result of Engineering BOM releases and keeps interested parties advised of status on these orders. Reviews inventory min/max and ensures that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels. Builds relationships with suppliers and negotiates with them for the best pricing and lead time. Responsible for monitoring delivery performance and product quality of assigned suppliers. Maintain and update master data in support of ERP implementation. Arrange transport of goods and tracks orders to ensure timely delivery. Must protect the company’s interest in all negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Execute purchase orders using the ERP purchasing modules and production planning parameters to ensure timely availability of parts and subcontract services.
- Supports R&D projects, production pilots and custom orders by locating materials and services needed to develop and release products.
- Maintains effective and professional relationships with suppliers, developing and improving performance in quality, delivery, and price.
- Active participation on supplier scorecard reviews and communication with the suppliers.
- Participates/leads in the development of required SOP’s and maintains them to current process.
- Ensures that supplier NDA and surveys are current.
- Performs price studies and vendor comparisons.
- Reports status updates to Planning and Procurement Leader.
- Participates in onsite Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
