About The Position

The Richmond Service Center EHS Intern will support Environmental, Health & Safety programs within a fast-paced repair shop environment. Partnering with the EHS Manager and site leadership, this role contributes to regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the site’s safety culture. This position provides hands-on experience with real operational challenges, offering meaningful project ownership and exposure to frontline operations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3.0 / 4.0 cumulative GPA

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, co-op, or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • OSHA certification.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership through academic, professional, or extracurricular involvement.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong interest in operational safety and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an operations environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution and sustainment of site EHS programs in alignment with corporate standards.
  • Analyze safety metrics and leading indicators to identify trends and recommend proactive improvements.
  • Participate in incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
  • Conduct shop floor safety observations, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and mitigation actions.
  • Assist with documentation management, compliance activities, and audit preparation.
  • Support safety communications, training initiatives, and employee engagement efforts.
  • Lead or contribute to assigned EHS improvement projects with measurable impact.
