About The Position

Leidos is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and experienced Supply Chain Finance Senior Manager to oversee Defense Systems Inventory and Material Management Financial operations in our Defense Systems Sector. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing inventory levels to meet demand, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods throughout the supply chain, Business Area Finance and Manufacturing Operations. You will report directly to the Vice President of Finance, Integration and Manufacturing CFO for Defense Systems. Selected candidate will work onsite from either our Huntsville - AL location or Reston - VA location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in inventory control and/or logistics management.
  • Proven experience using inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • US citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of DFAR, Quality and MMAS regulations are a plus.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain logistics.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or retail environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting methods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies and procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize losses.
  • Track Obsolete and Excess inventory for the Sector.
  • Lead and assist to develop Defense Systems Inventory policies, processes and guidance and train Sector and Business Area teams (scrap inventory process, portfolio inventory).
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory counts and records through regular audits and cycle counting in coordination with Manufacturing Warehouse operations.
  • Assist sites with their inventory forecast needs based on sales data, market trends, and business requirements to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Responsible for all Defense Systems Common Inventory forecasting and cash management.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and Manufacturing site teams to manage the flow of materials and products.
  • Utilize inventory management software and ERP systems for data tracking, reporting, and analysis.
  • Monitor, report and improve key inventory metrics like inventory turnover, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement loss prevention strategies and ensure adherence to relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train inventory and warehouse staff, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
