About The Position

Job Purpose: To provide Mechanical (Fab, Machining, Castings & Forgings) Supply Chain Subject Matter Expertise (SME) input/support to program proposals, execution and resolution of key production issues in a timely fashion Job Duties and Responsibilities: Be engaged to support Combat Vehicles (CV) production programs in all phases of program execution (proposal, execution & delivery) Execution efforts include: Support the Mechanical Lead in efforts to interact, evaluate, monitor and report technical execution of key suppliers Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications and product requirements Support resolution of technical issues both internally and externally (suppliers) through collaboration across functions including core product engineering/quality. Accordingly, provide recommendations to Program and Functional leadership for issue resolution from supply chain perspective in a timely fashion Collaborate with quality organization to support suppliers’ continued delivery of quality products on time Assess supply base for technical capabilities and competencies to mitigate execution risk Collaborate with supply chain teams to support strategic sourcing initiatives Be responsive to supplier queries and help resolve Vendor Information Requests (VIRs), Test Incident Reports (TIRs), production and quality issues in a timely fashion

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience. Work experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to travel to key suppliers
  • Experience working on Mechanical (Fab, Machining, Castings & Forgings) systems in any of the roles of design, development, procurement, production, or quality

  • Manufacturing: Proficiency in understanding mechanical systems to support technical discussions with suppliers, troubleshoot issues on the production line, and provide recommendations for design or producibility improvements.

  • Positive Attitude: The ability to find the best in people and trouble situations to keep oneself and the extended team motivated to resolve issues and improve processes and methodologies.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (including AI tools preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in EPDM or similar software
