About The Position

The Supply Chain Co-op position at Nidec Minster Corporation is designed to support the development and implementation of improved sourcing strategies within the Supply Chain team. The role focuses on enhancing the sustainability of the operating model through cost reductions in the supply base. The selected candidate will lead a specific sourcing project and gain insights into the metal forming business and the supply chain operations that support it.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program studying Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Availability to work a minimum of 20-25 hours per week, with the opportunity to work more as class schedule allows.
• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher (current transcripts required).
• Ability to write, create, and assemble reports and correspondence.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to work with multiple departments to help achieve goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks in various functional areas to learn about the metal forming and automation industry and business operations.
• Send out RFQs (Request For Quote) to suppliers and track the quotes received.
• Analyze data and potential issues, making recommendations for solutions to management.
• Contribute to departmental goals and identify improvement opportunities while participating in activities across various functional areas such as Operations, Finance, Accounting, Maintenance, Sales, or Administration.
• Perform analysis of data, information, and research.
• Identify and communicate potential issues related to assigned work.
• Execute and complete specific tasks and project deliverables identified by functional managers during the co-op term, including creating documents and correspondence related to project deliverables.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
