About The Position

At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, the Supply Chain team is dedicated to shaping the future of aviation by delivering innovative, affordable, and agile solutions that exceed customer expectations. The team is integral to every product and service, enabling customers to achieve the impossible daily through problem-solving, creativity, and data. This role involves developing a global sourcing strategy for commodities and structures, defining project scope, and facilitating execution to identify savings opportunities. The manager will work with cross-functional teams across Business Areas, Business Units, or Enterprise-wide to analyze supply base risks and opportunities, identify new sources of supply, and meet business requirements. Key responsibilities include negotiating and managing contracts and supplier relationships to drive innovative strategies and enhance performance, as well as implementing policies and metrics to ensure savings goals and performance requirements are met. The position acts as the main focal point for all matters pertaining to the assigned category and involves leading a team responsible for contracting and purchasing products for multiple lines of business, including coordinating employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experienced in Supply Chain, Production or Production Control
  • Experience in a Full Spectrum Leadership role leading multifunctional teams
  • Experience leading though changing priorities
  • Experience with the Continuous Improvement process

Responsibilities

  • Develop a global sourcing strategy for commodities and structures.
  • Define project scope and facilitates execution, identifying savings opportunities in order to provide differentiating value.
  • Work with Business Area, Business Unit or Enterprise-wide, cross-functional teams to analyze supply base risks & opportunities, identify new sources of supply and meet business requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and relationships with suppliers to drive innovative strategies and enhance performance.
  • Implement policies and metrics to ensure that savings goals are realized and performance requirements are achieved.
  • Act as the main focal point for all matters pertaining to the given category.
  • Lead a team that contract and buy products to support multiple lines of business.
  • Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
