About The Position

Responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing hospital supplies and equipment. The Supply Chain associate is also assigned the responsibility of carrying out the functions and duties of the Mailroom. In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, may also be assigned other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • Valid California Driver's license with good driving record required
  • Demonstrated clerical and math aptitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Six(6) month experience in warehousing, store-keeping stock control work, and customer service related.
  • Working knowledge of medical device/supply terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately checks incoming shipments againsts purchase orders.
  • Fills orders quickly and accurately from requisitions and pick-lists.
  • Monitors and maintains par level locations including automated supply stations as required.
  • Receives, stores, issues and delivers materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Checks merchandise received for conformity to specifications; reports shortages and damaged goods received and report other discrepancies.
  • Assists in packaging, marking and shipping merchandise returned for credit, exchange or repair.
  • Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail and interoffice correspondence according to a pre-defined schedule.
  • Duplicates forms and other materials for requesting departments. Maintains recrods of forms duplicated and delivers forms as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining the warehouse(s) and all mailroom areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Performs clerical and computer related duties as assigned.
  • Drives Hospital owned vehicles in order to deliver supplies and pick up returns/daily mail.
  • Assists in periodic and annual inventories.
  • Assists in maintaining appropriate records and performs filing and other routine clerical functions. Keep records on all incoming capital equipment within the Healthcare System.
  • Provides support to all on-site and off-site departments
  • Demonstrates good judgement when communicating with patients/customers of various age groups by modifying deliveyr and complexity of information based on age.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary performance imporovement activities.
  • Participates in improving service by serving on committees or task forces, collecting data when appropriate and sharing ideas for improvement.
  • Serves on Process Improvement / LEAN workshop teams as requested.
  • Reports significant quality or risk related problems to the Quality and Risk Management Department.
  • Attends all required meetings and in-services. Attends at least one educational program each year.
  • Seeks to improve performance by participating in self-development activities, in-service and continuing education that is appropriate to the area of service.
  • Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with regulatory standards, i.e. JCAHO, Title 22, Title 17, OSHA, EMTALA, HIPAA, and other services specific regulations
  • Performs other related duties.
  • Prevents the acquisition of Hospital Acquired Infection by adhering to hand hygiene practices and infection control policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates good hand hygiene practices and awareness of policies and regulations.
  • Reports any potential infection control risk factors within the organization.
