About The Position

The Supply Chain Analyst at J. Skinner Baking plays a vital role in optimizing supply chain operations by analyzing customer demand, inventory trends, production schedules, and shipping performance. This data-driven role ensures inventory alignment, production efficiency, and reliable delivery performance, ultimately supporting customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will collaborate across functions—including production, inventory management, logistics, customer service, sales, and management—to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, demand planning software, and logistics analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings effectively.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices, including inventory optimization and production planning.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Vicinity, Microsoft Dynamics, or SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical order data and market trends to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Monitor stock levels to balance customer needs and minimize excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to address potential supply issues proactively.
  • Align production schedules with inventory needs and delivery timelines.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and recommend capacity adjustments.
  • Analyze processes to propose cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
  • Track and evaluate delivery performance, addressing delays proactively.
  • Recommend strategies to optimize freight costs and carrier selection.
  • Prepare reports on shipping performance and delivery metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for KPIs such as fill rates, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover.
  • Identify trends and propose process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Use scenario planning to evaluate the impact of supply chain decisions on costs and service levels.
  • Act as a liaison between supply chain, production, logistics, and customer service teams.
  • Support the implementation of new supply chain processes and technologies.
