About The Position

Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for a Logistics Administrator that will be responsible for all transactional activities involved with auditing freight bills, warehouse bills, invoices, and shipping documents to ensure accuracy, compliance with carrier & 3PL contracts, and pricing agreements; monitors and audits CHEP pallet program and supports a variety of logistics functions including daily supply chain activities. This position provides back-up support the Distribution Administrator and Logistics Team during absences to ensure operations continue smoothly. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Management, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or any equivalent combination of training, experience, and education that demonstrates the ability.
  • 3 years related experience administering and coordinating logistics and transportation programs; experience in rail transportation and/or food manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Computer skills in transportation planning systems and other Microsoft Office software applications, with proficiency in Excel and Pivot Tables.
  • Familiar with Motor Transportation Agreements and other contracts for compliance.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Responsibilities

  • Review freight invoices and check for accuracy based on contract and shipment data.
  • Audits invoices for accuracy, reviews motor transportation agreements, prepares/codes vouchers and approves freight payables; provides supporting documentation for settlement processing; disputes and provides resolution for incorrect invoices with service providers.
  • Track all freight transactions and audit results accurately.
  • Identify and correct billing errors by connecting with service providers.
  • Examine freight expenses for patterns and cost-saving opportunities.
