Job Summary: The Supplier Quality Technician operates as part of the larger Operations Engineering team focused on supporting incoming part inspections and other supplier evaluation and performance monitoring data collection. The Supplier Quality Technician partners with the Supplier Quality Engineer and Supplier Engineers to identify and execute improvement activities for receiving inspection processes.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience working in inspection in a manufacturing environment or relevant education
  • A background in the inspecting of piece parts, assemblies and using documented specifications and procedures
  • Proficient at print reading and the use of common inspection tools and equipment
  • GD&T Background
  • Experience in the use of an O-Inspect CMM, Micro-Vu VMS, and other electronic testing tools and equipment is a plus
  • Must be well organized and possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft® Office Products.

  • IPC 620 Requirements and Acceptance of Cable and Wiring Harnesses Certification
  • GD&T Certification

Responsibilities

  • Write and process Non-conformances and Non-conforming Material Reports (NMR) generated from incoming inspection
  • Responsible for physical and electronic material processing of Non-conforming parts
  • Train inspectors to procedures, deviations, and specialized equipment
  • Address In-Coming inspection questions using established documentation
  • Review and process First Article submissions
  • Data collection/entry/tracking for supplier quality metrics
  • Develop inspection profiles with CMM and VMS
  • Work cross functionally as required to meet QMS Requirements (i.e. equipment calibration)
