About The Position

CCG is currently looking for a Supplier Quality Specialist to join our Quality Assurance team in our Sarasota, FL offices. The Supplier Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming materials and components while serving as a key liaison between internal operations and external suppliers. This role combines hands‑on receiving and incoming inspection with supplier quality management activities to help ensure materials meet established requirements, support efficient automated production, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor's degree in quality, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent applicable experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in quality inspection and/or supplier quality within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven experience performing incoming or receiving inspections using specifications, drawings, and sampling plans.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and processes; familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar standards preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, including experience with root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
  • Experience supporting supplier quality activities, including corrective actions, performance improvement, and ongoing supplier relationships.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to supplier locations or other company offices, or host on‑site supplier visits, as business needs require.
  • Ability to support performance objectives related to incoming material quality, timely inspection and release, and reduction of repeat supplier issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a combination of warehouse, production floor, and office environments within a hands‑on quality role.
  • Ability to perform physical inspection activities, including opening boxes, standing or moving throughout work areas, bending, reaching, and lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency using inspection and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges, and Keyence IM
  • Preferred experience in plastics, printing, packaging, or automated manufacturing environments, as well as familiarity with statistical sampling methods (AQL), ERP/MRP systems, or quality management systems; ASQ certifications (CQI, CQT) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and printed items using defined specifications, drawings, and sampling plans.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections utilizing appropriate inspection and measurement tools.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality issues such as dimensional nonconformance, material defects, or print quality concerns.
  • Approve or reject incoming shipments based on established acceptance criteria and document inspection results accurately.
  • Initiate and manage Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for materials that do not meet requirements.
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including material segregation and disposition support.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records to ensure traceability of materials throughout the receiving and production process.
  • Support timely release of materials to production to minimize delays and support efficient operations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for supplier‑related quality issues.
  • Issue, track, and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and support timely resolution and closure.
  • Analyze incoming quality data and defect trends to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with suppliers to address defects, implement corrective and preventive actions, and improve overall performance.
  • Assist with supplier qualification, onboarding activities, and periodic supplier performance evaluations.
  • Support supplier audits, visits, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Quality Assurance, Production, or Warehouse.
  • Provide feedback related to product specifications, inspection criteria, and incoming material requirements.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by assisting with validation and inspection of incoming materials.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of inspection plans, work instructions, and quality procedures related to incoming materials and supplier quality.
