Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) are provided leadership by SQE Manager reporting to Supply Chain. The Team’s primary responsibility is “ To Provide Quality Parts to the Production Lines in a Timely Manner”. Each SQE is responsible for a focused group of commodities by operational site. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or better.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with colleagues and external collaborators.
  • Ability to help lead the failure analysis of Plastic, Metal and Electronic Components. This will include Coatings, Color, Lighting and Aesthetics.
  • Knowledge of measurement techniques including Metrology, Inspection Methods, and Equipment.
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings including GD&T.
  • Knowledge of quality processes/procedures and experience in 6-Sigma-Lean (including Advanced Statistics, Design of Experiments, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Knowledge and proficiency working with computers including Microsoft Office, Databases, ERP Systems, and Product Life Cycle Management.
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment with managing Supplier Audits (Qualification and Surveillance).
  • Ability to work on-site in Fitchburg, WI.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.
  • Strong project management skills, technical capabilities, problem solving knowledge, procurement acumen, and leadership.
  • American Society for Quality - Certified Quality Engineer and/or Certified Quality Auditor

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procedures and systems necessary to promote continuous improvement and to support departmental goals.
  • Work with various business unit teams, manufacturing sites and suppliers to facilitate problem solving, supplier corrective action, evaluation, development, and communication of improvement plans.
  • Help Support Supplier Development of 212+ Suppliers through the Supplier Scorecard Improvement Process.
  • Supplier quality management, risk identification and reduction, quality and supply chain improvements, and relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze information and data to create, maintain, and effectively present metrics to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain databases and product lifecycle management workflows to promote new product development and maintain existing product.
  • Review, Assess and Implement Supplier Changes with minimal risk to our Production Lines.
  • Disposition Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requests which includes Dimensional Layouts, Material Certifications, Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Process Capability and Gage Studies.
  • Perform Supplier Qualification and Surveillance Audits with Cross-Functional Teams and Suppliers.
  • Participate in Design and Contract Reviews for Supplied Components.
