About The Position

This position is part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Supplier Quality Management team, responsible for leading a deployed team to achieve total quality performance at a strategic supplier producing major airframe components. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure supplier performance aligns with quality and affordability goals, while also managing a team of Supplier Quality Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 14 years of experience.
  • Proficient in Blueprint Reading and First Article Inspection (FAI) Interpretation of Engineering Process Specifications.
  • Expert level verification of mechanical methods for complex machined parts and assemblies.
  • Expert level knowledge of GD&T and understanding of engineering presidency and CATIA models.
  • Expert level RCCA ensuring effectiveness of CA plans and surveillance of QMS/manufacturing processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in building working relationships with suppliers at all leadership levels.
  • Self-starter with a high level of autonomy.
  • Comfortable in high-pressure scenarios responding to critical quality issues.
  • Certified Black/Green belt in lean and Six-Sigma quality engineering methodologies.
  • Experience in composites, tubes, transparencies, sheet metal, and elastomers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a deployed team to achieve total quality performance at a strategic supplier.
  • Collaborate with LM Engineering, Factory Leadership, and Global Supplier Chain Leadership to solve technical and contractual issues.
  • Report to executive leadership and customers including DCMA and the Joint Program Office (JPO).
  • Utilize quality science methods to identify and control sources of variation detrimental to quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Conduct and coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments.
  • Deliver effective methods and initiate improvements to drive overall quality performance, reducing defects and costs.
