About The Position

The Supplier Quality Coordinator is accountable for coordinating the return of non-conforming material, the request of a Failure Analysis or Corrective Action and obtaining credit from the manufacturer for non-conforming material. This role has Material Review Board (MRB) authority to disposition non-conforming product in conjunction with the technical expertise and approval of the relevant supplier.  This position communicates across several departments internally as well as externally to our supplier partners. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, with 1+ year of experience in operations, contract administration or a quality department preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience also considered.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word & PowerPoint
  • Detail oriented with strong quality and productivity orientation

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Sales to validate the reported non-conformance including coaching the sales team on the appropriate data points to capture by failure mode.
  • Organize reported information into clear, descriptive, valuable problem statements for use by the manufacturer.
  • Develop professional relationships internally across RMA, Finance, Sales & the Quality Department and externally with manufacturer representatives to facilitate friendly and efficient communications and resolutions.
  • Gather, communicate, and request return authorizations from manufacturers including all the relevant information required for authorizations.
  • Use the return authorizations to request credit and disposition non-conforming material.
  • Disposition suspect non-conforming product returned by the customer or quarantined as the result of a suspect non-conformance.  Determine disposition in accordance with the consultation of the manufacturer. In rare cases, the disposition to scrap will be made unilaterally.
  • Coordinate the timely return of nonconforming material to the relevant supplier and ensures containment of on-hand inventory is rapid and effective.
  • Provide thorough, timely and effective Corrective Action (CA) responses to customers by receiving the requests, initiating the CA in the Quality Data Management System, selecting the most appropriate responder, tracking and coordinating the response, evaluating the response, working with the responder if insufficient, and responding to the customer on behalf of TTI.
  • Maintain an effective Total Quality Department by assisting with the processing of returned materials, corrective actions and related documents. This responsibility is both as a flexible added resource and as a back-up in others’ absence. Address corrective actions requiring a high level of professionalism and coordination across the supply chain.
  • Complete special projects as assigned in a timely and accurate manner by reviewing project requirements with appropriate individuals, developing project plans and effectively completing assigned project.
  • Work with RMA personnel to resolve issues with customer returns for defective materials and facilitate rapid and effective returns to suppliers. Address customer discrepancies with the supplier requiring a high level of professionalism and coordination across the supply chain.
  • Coordinate and communicate return authorizations from the manufacturers, debit memos, and internal quality documentation in order to clear parts from controlled nonconforming area (RMA).
  • Assist with executing process improvements to reduce the turn-around time of RMA’s.
  • Maintain and track reported non-conformance, expected customer returns, pending manufacturer return authorizations and open pending dispositions.
  • Document department work instructions and/or processes.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
