About The Position

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for addressing quality performance concerns and ensuring compliance with quality management systems among suppliers. This role involves collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance supplier performance, drive quality improvement projects, and manage supplier audits and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems, or a related field required.
  • 2 years technical related experience in a manufacturing environment or repair and overhaul facility.
  • An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License may be used in combination with four years of related experience in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized designee highly preferred.
  • Understanding and ability to apply and communicate blueprints/specifications, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Quality Control System Requirements.
  • Computer literate and capable of working within various software applications utilized throughout the enterprise.
  • Experience in a Supplier Quality capacity highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles (certification preferred).
  • Knowledge of APQP principles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks in the area of responsibility in a timely manner to support the supplier quality/inspection system.
  • Ensure all aspects of the delivered/finished article are manufactured in accordance with approved quality system requirements.
  • Manage compliance of supplier performance through system, product, and process audits.
  • Certify suppliers or assess their quality systems, personnel, processes, and equipment as required.
  • Coordinate quality assurance program plans and monitor audit schedules.
  • Drive the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process for all suppliers.
  • Promote continuous improvement techniques and APQP principles at suppliers.
  • Develop key metrics and scorecard measures to depict supplier health from a risk and performance perspective.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to subordinate personnel and oversee their tasks.
  • Lead quality focus meetings to address supplier performance and communicate progress to senior leadership.
