About The Position

Supplier Quality Engineer (HL Mando America Corporation; Opelika, AL): Respond and follow up on supplier quality issues. Submit non-conformance reports (NCR), initial reports, and 8D reports. Maintain knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)/Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)/Control Plan. Maintain Supplier Score Card (NCR, Parts Per Million (PPM), and Delivery compliance). Maintain Supplier Process Audit and request and review periodic inspection reports and samples. Report and follow-up with original equipment manufacturers on warranty issues. Report on and monitor physical inventory (non-conforming parts) and Global Enterprise Resource Planning (G-ERP) system. Check and maintain Quality Market part defects to register Global Manufacturing Execution System and to prepare claims. Prepare IATF 16949 audits (non-conforming procedure by Goal Based Performance Management Systems (GBPMS)). Work closely with Quality Engineers and other departments to support plant requirements. Support efforts to use inspection data for process improvement. Oversee proper quality documentation according to customer or internal auditing. Complete PPAP/Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) according to plan for supplier 4M/Engineering Orders. Engineering Orders Change Management (Review and approve Supplier PPAP and follow up with related department’s requirements). Review and approve suppliers’ 4M requests (mass production 4M change support). Conduct the Process Control Plan Audit (PCPA) for suppliers to maintain the proper quality level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have skills with the following: working with production processes, quality requirements in manufacturing
  • working with supplier parts inventory flow status from purchase order to company to control quality inspection
  • using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook Express)
  • parts drawing analysis or Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for defective products
  • conducting annual audits of suppliers
  • charging suppliers for defect-related costs.
