Reporting to the supply chain manager, the supplier engineer will conduct preliminary purchased part risk assessments and lead-time and cost estimates, as well as identify and qualify outside manufacturing partners. Additionally, this role is responsible for reviewing customer specifications and drawings in order to communicate needs with suppliers; securing non-disclosure agreements; negotiating costs, lead-times, and terms and conditions; and performing supplier audits as needed. The supplier engineer also assists with validation and final approval, and identifies root causes of component-related issues, reviewing and approving supplier corrective actions/preventative actions (CAPA). This is a unique role that not only helps ensure our customers receive the high quality parts they expect, but can also enhance profitability working toward supply chain cost reductions.
