Supply Eng - P3 (Supplier Engineer III) Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Act as liaison between materials and other groups in resolving problems encountered in the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical or Material Science
  • 3+ yrs. Engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Individuals must be self-motivated, and results orientated
  • Previous experience in working with suppliers in the medical device industry
  • Previous experience with manufacturing metal and plastic components
  • Fully Bilingual
  • Good understanding of statistical methods, problem-solving techniques and six sigma methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Participates in large scale projects or leads smaller scale projects under guidance from senior engineering staff. Competent in the use of all relevant business tools including material qualification activities (AA/FA), NCEP process, and all required PDM activity.
  • Participates in project teams cooperating with cross functional team members to qualify and improve supplier processes. Plans, schedules, conduct or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project o
  • Interfaces with suppliers with support from commodity team members to support investigation of supplied material issues or supply constraints.

  • Working with global suppliers to understand manufacturing processes and requirements to ensure the quality and reliability of components can be repeated and reproduced
  • Partnering with suppliers and category teams to investigate and resolve supplied material issues and supply constraints
  • Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams to qualify and improve supplier processes; plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work to meet project deliverables
  • Working with divisional project leads to support supplier engineering action items and identify solutions for resource allocation, changes in project requirements and manage escalations
  • Troubleshooting processes at supplier facilities to drive quality, reliability, and supply chain improvements
  • Leading acquisition and sustaining projects including qualification, supplier change assessments, and restricted material evaluations
  • Executing plans to improve supplier performance, mitigate risks of supplied material, optimize costs, and support VIP to meet supply chain objectives
