Eaton’s Mobility business is currently seeking a Supplier Development Engineer. This is a hybrid work opportunity. Candidates must be based within 50 miles of the following Eaton Mobility locations: Southfield MI, Galesburg MI or Marshall MI. The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time. What you’ll do: The Supplier Development Engineer will leverage technical expertise in manufacturing processes and Supplier Development Engineering (SDE) methodologies to support supplier qualification, product and process development, and launch readiness across the global supply base. Lead supplier feasibility assessments, execute APQP activities, and PPAP approvals to ensure robust, on-time, and safe launches. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and manufacturing readiness. Conduct supplier qualification audits to assess quality, and technical capabilities against business and product requirements; perform periodic requalification audits to ensure ongoing compliance and capability. Perform supplier feasibility assessments in support of new sourcing activities and new programs to confirm supplier understanding of product requirements and manufacturing capability; participate in cross-functional sourcing decisions by providing technical and supplier capability input. Manage APQP activities with suppliers from program kickoff through PPAP approval to ensure readiness for production. Support and monitor Safe Launch activities following PPAP to ensure flawless, on-time, and stable production launches. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Focus Supplier Programs to address performance gaps, strengthen capabilities, and improve quality, delivery, and manufacturing robustness. Support Supplier Quality Engineers in complex quality issues by contributing technical expertise to problem-solving activities, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective actions.
