About The Position

Performs cleaning, waste disposal, and reycle disposal throughout the facility as assigned.

Requirements

• FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE A MUST
• Ability to work various shorfts and various times
• Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line
• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to worrk in cold and hot conditions
• Ability to walk continuously
• Must be flexible within pattern of shoft work to accommodate factory shutdowns, training course, etc.
• Must be a committed team worker with a strong sene of responsibility and good attention to detial. Effective problem-solving skills and an agile mind are essential

Nice To Haves

• Previous exerince in a production environment and/or food production or handling is preferred
• Experience with manufacturing in a fast-moving consumer goods company is desireable, but not essential

Responsibilities

• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials from teh production floor and suppirt areas
• Dumpsters are wheeled from production floor and other areas to the trash dock
• Cardobard and large plastic are put in proper balers, general mized waste is put in trash compactor or overflow dumpster if need
• Larger items go in the open top.
• Operate powered forklifts during the collection of waste and recyclable materials
• Any gaylords, drums, or cardboard pallets
• Operate plastic and cardboard balers and trash compactors for the budnling of waste materials
• Band and prepare pallets for recycling trailer
• Promptly notify Maintenance or Supervisors when equipment issues or other issues arise
• Always operate equipment in a safe manner, including following safety procedures for forklift/manual hand jacks, baler operations, compactor operation, etc.
• Loads trailers with recycling pallets properly
• Atends and completes "Blood Born Pathogens" training on a yearly basis
• Cleans out draibns on trash compactors daily, cleans outsode compactor area (including Contractor's ramp) when it is pulled, cleans, sanitizes recycle/waste roomes and areas
• Clean behind the trash compactor when the trashc compactor is switched out.
• Complete cleaning checklist on every shift
• Organizing, sweeping, sanitizing recycling area, including outside
• Ensure salt or brine is spread in icy weather
• Work in adverse conditions
• Weather: rain, snow, cold, heat (compactor is outside the facility)
• Dirt/Grime: area around compactor may be very stinky and grimy, and this must be cleaned periodically
• Wet: may get when when spraying off dumpsters
• Maintains dumpsters
• sprays them off EVERY TIME after dropping them off at trash compactors
• simple maintenance work (ie, tighten loose screws)
• notifies correct people when dumpsters need additional maintenance
• Cleaning of other plant areas and other duties as assigned
• Manages swithching of trailers by calling 3rd party vendors, including completing BOLs
• Operates Doc lock
• Follow all required safty procedures, work in a safe and productive manner
• Ensure all recyclables are delivered to their designated areas (3 trailers)
• Follow all codes and policies
