About The Position

The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing the sports team, ensuring that all participants are trained effectively and safely. The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in these responsibilities and helps to develop the skills of the team members. Both positions require a strong knowledge of the sport and the ability to communicate this knowledge to the participants.

Requirements

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Valid Florida Educator Certificate or Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to impart this knowledge.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the sports team as the Head Coach.
• Support the Head Coach in training and developing team members as the Assistant Coach.
• Impart knowledge of the sport to participants.
• Ensure safety and effective training practices.
