About The Position

The Supplemental Instruction and Peer Support Program Coordinator for Training is a full-time position at the Academic Success Center (ASC) focused on leading and coordinating tutoring, supplemental instruction (SI), and peer support training programs. This role involves developing, implementing, and assessing training programs in alignment with university standards, supervising student employees, and collaborating with faculty and staff to enhance student academic success.

Requirements

• Master's degree in higher education, student development, or related field.
• 3-5 years of full-time professional experience in educational programming or student services.
• Experience supervising student staff and providing professional training.
• Ability to develop student understanding of learning strategies and academic success content.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in planning and records management.
• General knowledge of assessment practices and experience utilizing assessment data.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, manage, and assess SI, Tutor, and Peer training programs.
• Coordinate, supervise, and facilitate student training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
• Create procedures and maintain detailed records of all student training activities.
• Directly supervise and support graduate and undergraduate student employees, including tutors and SI Leaders.
• Collaborate with RIT departments, faculty, and staff to share and implement best practices for SI training models.
• Provide peer training for RIT departments and support student oversight and development practices.
• Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of student employees.
• Support initiatives within the ASC department and collaborate on teaching and learning practices.
