About The Position

Catholic Charities is seeking a self-motivated leader who is dedicated and detail-orientated, compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally aware to serve as a Supervisory Teacher at its Northside Child Development Center. They are responsible for supervision of classroom including the planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate program for assigned groups, and responsible for supervision of classroom staff, including maintaining compliance with Rule 3, compliance with Hennepin County Contract, and compliance with Agency and Center policies and procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining positive relationships among staff, children, parents, volunteers and community. This position requires the candidate to have a valid Minnesota driver's license.

Requirements

  • Must meet Minnesota Department of Human Services licensing qualifications as stated in Rule 3 for a teacher.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record and current proof of insurance coverage.
  • Ability to work with those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, mental illness or low-income populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, Education or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in center-based child-care.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure licensing, accreditation, and strong beginnings standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Supervision of children at all times.
  • Supervision of staff and volunteers. Providing room orientation and continual support and guidance.
  • Coordination of daily programming and ensuring all areas of development are met.
  • Ensure communication with parents daily.
  • Coordination and supervision of programming, lesson plans, assessments, and documentation.
  • Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the relevance, accuracy, and timeliness of data and reporting for purposes of accountability and client outcomes.
  • Supervise and work with children’s individual needs; meeting children where they are.
  • Works cooperatively and respectfully with all staff, supervisors, management, and volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
