About The Position

The Supervisory Social Worker for the HUD-VASH program in Colorado Springs, CO, is responsible for overseeing the Homeless Program at the Colorado Springs Garden of the Gods CBOC. This role includes providing direct clinical services, supervising staff, and managing program operations to ensure effective service delivery to homeless veterans. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Section Chief of Homeless Programs and will play a key role in community outreach and partnership development.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited school.
  • State licensure or certification to practice social work at the master's level.
  • One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in social work.
  • Advanced practice skills in a specialty area or administration.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Skill in supervisory duties including clinical supervision and quality improvement.
  • Ability to ensure provision of clinical services by supervised social workers.
  • Ability to analyze organizational problems and implement solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience working with the homeless population.

Responsibilities

  • Develop individual, group, and program goals and objectives.
  • Manage fund control points assigned to the program.
  • Oversee data management related to program operations and evaluations.
  • Plan, organize, and direct administrative operations and patient activities.
  • Assist in identifying qualified MSW candidates and supervise staff in HCHV and HUD-VASH programs.
  • Exercise supervisory responsibilities including work assignment and review.
  • Provide supervision and consultation to subordinates.
  • Monitor quality of care and productivity of supervisees.
  • Review and approve leave requests.

  • Represent the HCHV program in the community and participate in homeless planning activities.
  • Transport veterans in government vehicles as needed.
  • Develop community partnerships and coordinate events for homeless veterans.
  • Participate in Local and Regional Homeless Coalitions.
