About The Position

The Supervisory Program Specialist at the Department of Veterans Affairs is responsible for overseeing the Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences Service (MH&BSS) at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. This role focuses on ensuring quality healthcare delivery in a patient-centric environment, developing programs, and providing expert guidance on quality assurance and organizational strategies.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-09 level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
• Education may substitute for experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Quality Assurance Specialist.
• Develop programs, data capture & report procedures.
• Provide expert and accurate guidance concerning the programs and elements involved.
• Actively participate in the development of procedures, policies, and effective planning for the delivery of quality healthcare.
• Design studies, training programs, and organizational strategies for identifying opportunities to improve customer service.
• Review and evaluate completed staff actions.
• Directly supervise assigned employees by setting priorities and establishing schedules.
• Evaluate performance, recommend promotions and awards, and approve requests for leave.
