About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first-level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees. To provide advice, administrative direction and supervision of personnel responsible for planning, scenario development, and execution of operational-level-of-warfare command and control exercises.

  • Knowledge and skills with model and simulation required for this position.
  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
  • Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent requires a top secret security clearance.
  • Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and retain a US Government official passport.
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and manages a wide range of complex activities for Modeling and Simulations Branch or AFMSTT Branch.
  • Analyses major Air Force M&S programs to support the AF-wide C-MAJCOM/C-NAF Air Component Headquarters, other service component HQ's (Army, Navy, Marine Corps), JCS, and Combatant Command exercise programs.
  • Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities and provide M&S expertise and guidance to develop, implement, and evaluate Air Force actions to improve integration and interoperability.
  • Represents 505 CTS with a variety of command and functional area organizations.
  • Documents planning and programming decisions in appropriate formats to meet Air Force M&S exercise requirements using AFMSTT models.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and actively participates in strategic planning to improve organizational direction and focus using strategic planning tools and techniques.
