About The Position

The Supervisory Police Officer (Sergeant) at the US Mint, Protection Department - Fort Knox Police, is responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local laws to protect human life and preserve civil rights. This role involves overseeing police operations, managing personnel, and ensuring compliance with operational regulations.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
• One year of specialized experience at a level equivalent to the TR-08/GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, involving law enforcement operations and maintaining order.
• Physical capability to perform specified tasks such as running, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a law enforcement environment with knowledge of basic laws and regulations.
• Completion of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).

Responsibilities

• Independently detail officers to posts and patrols and make day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established procedures and priorities.
• Enforce all operational regulations used by the United States Mint Police, including police manuals, post orders, policies, procedures, and Mint Police directives.
• Plan and distribute work assignments, review work in progress, and revise work schedules as needed.
• Resolve personnel management problems and/or grievances, promoting morale among police personnel.
• Assist in the formulation and development of personnel training needs, scheduling training based on manpower availability.
