About The Position

This position is for a dental hygienist in Pine Ridge, SD, under federal employment. Requirements

• Must be currently licensed to practice as a dental hygienist in a State or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Must meet credentialing standards for administering radiologic procedures as per Public Law 97-35.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Alternatively, completion of 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education or a Master's degree in dental hygiene or a directly related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform oral healthcare and risk assessments, including reviewing patients' health history.
• Conduct extraoral and intraoral examinations and oral cancer screenings.
• Complete comprehensive dental and periodontal charting.
• Provide patient education for oral health and disease.
• Perform advanced oral prophylactic, therapeutic, and preventive procedures.
• Place temporary fillings and finish amalgam restorations.
