Supervisory Park Ranger (P)

About the position

This position is located in the Southeast Arizona Group at Coronado National Memorial, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division. The role involves serving as the primary law enforcement advisor to the superintendent and other division chiefs on resource and visitor protection issues, managing interagency coordination and smuggling interdiction, and overseeing supervisory and personnel management responsibilities within the Division of Visitor and Resource Protection.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary law enforcement advisor to the superintendent and other division chiefs on resource and visitor protection issues.
• Park lead for interagency coordination and smuggling interdiction at the Federal, State and Local law enforcement levels.
• Supervision and program management for the Division of Visitor and Resource Protection.
• Ensures that all supervisory and personnel management responsibilities are carried out including the recruitment, selection, training, counseling and evaluation of permanent and seasonal employees.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
• Subject to pre-employment physical and drug testing.
• Must possess a Type I or higher Law Enforcement Commission.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing or leading law enforcement and resource protection programs.
• Experience evaluating law enforcement program activities based on funding.
• Experience interpreting regulations and policy directives related to law enforcement and natural resource protection.
• Experience reviewing law enforcement case reports for compliance.
• Experience investigating criminal activity and conducting investigations.
