About the position
This position is for a Doctor of Optometry with responsibilities that include overseeing the Optometry Program, providing direct medical and optometric care to patients, and supervising Optometry staff. Responsibilities
- Oversee the Optometry Program in its entirety.
- Provide direct, comprehensive medical/optometric care to patients.
- Supervise Optometry staff by assigning work and evaluating performance.
- Interview candidates for positions within the Optometry department.
- Ensure staff follow accreditation standards.
- Ensure quality of care within the department.
- Serve as the Optometry and Eye care clinical expert in providing consultation.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited educational program.
- Passing score on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) examinations.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
- Demonstrated supervisory abilities and management qualities.
