Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited educational program.

• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
• Demonstrated supervisory abilities and management qualities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Optometry Program in its entirety.
• Provide direct, comprehensive medical/optometric care to patients.
• Supervise Optometry staff by assigning work and evaluating performance.
• Interview candidates for positions within the Optometry department.
• Ensure staff follow accreditation standards.
• Ensure quality of care within the department.
• Serve as the Optometry and Eye care clinical expert in providing consultation.
