About The Position

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must possess (or obtain within 30 days of entrance on duty) and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Must pass a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination.
  • Must submit to drug testing and pass prior to appointment, with random testing required thereafter.
  • One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level, including knowledge of leadership principles, personnel management, and natural resource management.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and supervision to a diverse staff, including three second-level supervisors for range, wildlife, and cultural programs.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates and makes assignments based on capability and expertise.
  • Evaluates the work performance of subordinates and develops performance standards.
  • Identifies developmental and training needs of employees and arranges for necessary training.
  • Responsible for programming and annual budgeting submissions, ensuring program accomplishments are within budget allocations.
  • Makes recommendations for budget adjustments and carries out supervisory duties in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as primary Acting Field Manager as needed and collaborates with the Field Manager on decision-making processes.
